I just love this 12’ Herding Stick !
When I first saw Pat use it on YouTube with a show Carriage Horse I was amazed how well the horse responded .
Do I really need another communication flag stick to add to my already fairly large collection including my Carrot stick I bought 15 years ago?
Why yes I do . 😊
After heavy debate be cause it’s a little bit on the pricey side I decided go for it .
I am so glad I did !
I have a high headed very sensitive High strung Stallion that is a little insecure and likes to be right beside me.
He also has a very high flight instinct .
So teaching him to calm down and keep space while cueing him is very important and this extension stick enabled me to do just that .
It has opened a whole new form of communication enabling me to cue my horse at a safe distance which at the same time takes the pressure off him making it easier for the horse to read my intention / energy in what I am asking .
It slowed him down and calmed him down making it easier for him to understand what I was asking .
It also enabled me to train my horse to lower his head easier while standing as he likes to keep it held very high ( Like the Carriage Horse from the video )
I just annoy him with the flag above his head until he lowers then release immediately.
I am very pleased with my purchase and can’t recommend it enough especially if you have a highly sensitive high headed horse .
Note of caution be very very careful while using the stick for the last extension piece is thin and can easily break .
I am very Happy with
my 12’ Herding Stick and I think my horse is happy too.
