This is the baby version of the Carrot Stick: shorter, lighter, more slender. Perfect for kids and for riding. Features a smaller handle, shorter rod (3-foot) and the same leather end as the original Carrot Stick. We have a 4-foot Savvy String (sold separately) that is just the right length for junior horsemen! Also great for adults who want a lighter stick on the ground and for riding.

  • The leather loop end is traditional, the leather lasts longer and the string tends to swing better. It is perfect for attaching your savvy string or a flag.
  • 3-Foot long non-flex fiberglass shaft with a solid core gives flexibility and strength. If the stick were hollow it could bend or shatter. This flexibility results in a firm pressure but not sting when used correctly.

    Stick lasts 18 months

    I bought my first Parelli mini stick and string In April of 2023 and used it 3 to 5 x per week. It broke in October of 2024 so it lasted about 18 months. I ordered another set that month. It broke in March of 2026 in the same spot, where the string holder attaches to the sticks it is not repairable. I wrapped the stick and string together with duck tape, and it's working for now, but I expect it will fly off at some point. I did order another mini Parelli set from Amazon (from the Parelli store) in order to avoid Parelli's shipping charge of about $12.95. The only negative is that I could not choose a color on Amazon, just the black/orange combo. Maybe I'll splurge and get the purple color in 18 months. I call this my 18 month Parelli stick. The good news is that it is light weight, smaller, and does not hurt my arm. I've tried a competitive product but it was not lightweight. I have no problem replacing it every 18 months rather than dealing with a sore arm. I hope they don't raise the price. Bottom line, I really recommend this product.
