This is a Parelli-designed softened version of a Roping Lariat. It is an essential tool for developing your horsemanship skills on the ground from greater distances, particularly from Levels 3 to Level 4 On Line, as you advance.

- 45-Foot Triple X softened 3/8-inch diameter lariat rope designed for horse handling.
- Honda loop on the end for quick-change accessories, such as a snap or karabiner.
- This kit includes a snap with the Honda loop (usually sold separately). The swivel snap helps reduce tension and prevents the rope from coiling under the horse's chin when attached to a halter.
- Available in two colors: White and Green.
- This rope is suitable for all climates, including wetter environments, as the Lariat material resists attracting dirt and water and does not become soggy.
- Soft twist construction, similar to a quality ranch-type rope used for doctoring or working with animals. This is not a stiff roping rope.
- Keep using the rope until the wax coating wears off and the rope becomes fully broken in.

Pat Parelli's first horse training mentor was Troy Henry from Clovis, California. He shared with Pat the psychological advantages of teaching a horse its basic education on the ground in a round corral and On Line. Troy always used a 45-foot line, which required the handler to be athletic, precise, and confident with the tool.
When Pat started conducting his clinics in the early 1980s, it became apparent that this was a powerful tool but not necessarily the best place for every student to start. This led to the development of the 12 and 22-foot lines.
The difference between the 45-foot training line and the shorter lines is the material. The yachting braid is softer on your hands but also heavier, while the 45-foot line is made from a Triple Soft Lariat material that is much lighter while still providing the unique feel and sensitivity that horses respond positively to.
The 45-foot rope has a unique psychological effect on horses because they are highly aware of distance and approach. It allows you to communicate clearly and effectively from a greater distance.
Used correctly, your horse will learn to seek connection and follow your suggestions, even if you drop the rope. Recommended for confident Level 3 students and above.
