1. What will visitors concretely learn during Pat's masterclass at Horse Event Pro?

In the masterclass, Pat will reveal the core psychology behind why horses do what they do. Attendees will learn to recognize the difference between a horse that's mentally present versus one that's emotionally shut down, and how to read the subtle body language cues that most people miss. He'll demonstrate specific techniques for developing what he calls "feel, timing, and balance" which are the often invisible skills that separate good horsemen from great ones.

2. What will people really take home from the session – both mentally and practically?

Participants will leave with a new lens for viewing their horse's behavior. Instead of seeing resistance, they'll recognize communication attempts. Practically, they'll understand how their own energy directly influences their horse's state of mind, and how we can become better partners by doing things with and for our horse. Many will realize they've been trying to train their horse's body while ignoring their horse's mind—this is where real breakthroughs happen.

While most methods focus on making horses obedient, the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program develops horses that are confident, thinking partners. Pat and his Licensed Parelli Professionals will be playing with a diverse group of horses from all different ages, stages, and disciplines. From foundation to specialization, this event will feature Western, English, Dressage (and maybe even a bit of Show Jumping!).

Pat's mission has always been simple: help horses by educating humans. He believes that most "horse problems" are actually communication problems. By teaching people to understand horses as the intelligent, sensitive beings they are, we can eliminate the fear, force, and frustration that plague so many horse-human relationships.

13. Can Pat share a story where his approach made a real difference?

One story Pat often shares involves a mare named Bella who had been labeled "dangerous" after several accidents. Traditional methods had failed, and she was considered unusable. Through Natural Horsemanship, Pat discovered Bella wasn't aggressive, but she was afraid and protecting herself the only way she knew how. By addressing her fear and building trust systematically, Bella transformed into a confident, willing partner. This story illustrates Pat's fundamental belief: change a horse's mind, and their body will follow.
